March Month Summary

I am pleased with what I saw, experienced, and learnt this month.  It was also amazing to go to Monte Verde and, although rainy, it was a pleasant experience.

What happened this month:

-Monte Verde
-Laptop broke
-First (small) lightening storm
-Rain for a change
-Learnt a lot more Spanish
-Met some awesome people
-Read a lot
-Some more 'first' sightings
-Deers drinking from the ocean
-The first pig sighting for the park in many years
-Harlequin crabs going nuts
-A boom in juvenile crabs and fish
-Informative lectures on statistics, cameras etc.
-Pochote seed collecting…

Above all, this month (2nd) saw a transitional period between dry and wet season.  This means a variety of changes in relation to the species seen and their behaviour, including new birds, butterflies, insects and other random individuals.  In a couple of weeks I will have reached the half-way point (In Nicaragua on a VISA trip maybe).  I look forward to the months to come but my aim for April is to look into the possibility of starting some research, at least to help out the scientists in collecting data on something they don't have time to collect personally.
