• Day 110: Thursday April 19th

Catching the local 'chicken bus' (old yellow American school bus) to Rivas in the early hours was difficult.  Especially as we had to stand as the bus was extremely full.  In Rivas it took us ages to figure out exactly where the bus would stop, then I was left to guard everyones luggage whilst they went to get food...

Someone said something really funny at once they returned: "Nicaraguans don't seem to finger each other much" - she meant swear at each other and after some of us laughed someone else caught the wrong end of the stick and said "I have!"
Border Crossing (D.Philpot)
Back at the border someone also made the comment that any film, book or TV episode that has a bus full of nuns either ends in a crash or in an adult film… unfortunately, all the nuns spoke perfect English… haha.  However we all made it back through the border into Costa Rica despite, technically, us partly having expired Visas and some of us buying large knives as souvenirs.

Now back in Costa Rica the bathroom door on the bus got jammed and then a piece of the bus fell off - kind of funny to note :-)

Again we reached San Jose where we got nice rooms for $15 close to the central avenue (avenida central of paseo colon).  Later we went to the San Pedro mall where we played air hockey in the arcade before watching the new American Pie film in what, are very worth noting, THE most comfiest cinema seats ever, which were like rocking chairs too.
