• Day 088: Wednesday March 28th

21:15 DL and I went to the lab where we briefly discussed the best method of "preserving gobies" as museum voucher specimens to ultimately be sent off for the park to InBio.

We all hung about until 11:00, meanwhile I saw 4 Parrots (green with red under-wings) fighting viciously in the undergrowth below the canopy viewed from the dining area.  They soon felt quickly out of sight, swirling around each other in the air, feathers falling and biting each other's neck.

Just got interrupted by another nosey Crab-Eating Racoon! Got a couple more Butterfly photos too:

Familiar Colours (D.Philpot)
Just after 11:00 I headed out of the park with half of the Stratford Hall group and rode in the back of Elia's pickup, which in itself was a great experience, the destination… Malpais Surf Camp.
Ready To Surf It Up (D.Philpot)
A lovely place, well furnished/welcoming with pleasant bi-lingual staff and facilities such as the bar, pool tables, and pool (priorities).  The later is where we first hung out, I walked about and collected some freshly fallen mangos before some resident Ctenosaurs got hold of them.  One of the students and I popped to town for a fresh fruit shake and trip to the bakery before returning for surf lesson preparation for the students.

DL told me about the funny kids stories of how the elephant got his trunk etc. right before we returned on a second trip to town (staff with the non-surfing students) stopping first at the internet café before hitting the beach bar to watch the others surf whilst playing life guard.  My time for surfing will come eventually.

Upon returning we played ping-pong, then I had a lecture on stats (where mangos falling and a retarded, twitching dog with his tongue out interrupted us on many occasions).

In the evening we had a great big meal (ABC Burger - Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger), watched Endless Summer 2, played more pool before switching off for the ride back to the park and bed.
