• Day 135: Monday May 14th

19:30 Today has been somewhat dull, climatically more than literally.

This morning I started reading another book "Coral Reefs of Florida and the Caribbean." We got a phone call from Caballo to say there is food on the way and so we went to the gate where we waited for one of the few female park guards who bought the food.

By midday we had also cleaned the whole of the main lodge (El Comedor) top to bottom and I was hoping Caballo was going to be impressed. However, the group has cancelled and so I am now in hope that the food we have will last till late May. Without the skills of the cooks it is hard to produce something from scratch like they do - mainly due to the presence of vegetables I have no idea how to use, or copious amounts of sour cream/cream.

Food aside, on the way back I spotted a dead Social Flycatcher - maybe a Ctenosaur got his revenge? and then in the afternoon I finally made labels for the Blennys (fish) and the Red Tide Victims specimen jars. I returned just before a monsoon, read some more, cooked a late dinner and then read and relaxed before bed. Tomorrow I plan to write up my statistics notes, possibly even go up to the mountain with the park "plumbers" who drop by every so often, if the volunteers stick around.
