• Day 128: Monday May 7th

15:15 Alone again this morning I was actually thinking I was pretty bored, but then after today I wondered if in fact it is just a normal day and it just so happens that for me most days have been new and interesting or with odd things happening.

Another moth this morning:

The day really started off with a Social Flycatcher pestering a Ctenosaur (kind of normal), then a Black Vulture decided to stand right on top of all my Spanish books… what!

I changed my attention towards catching butterflies with a net and photographing them as records - got two or three different ones, and one was very friendly crawling over me for about 20 minutes.

Then after a late lunch, with some more coconut ice-cream, a Basilisk (Jesus Christ Lizard) ran across the yard to the El Comedor lodge.  I have a video which turned out pretty good considering how fast they are… Video 138.

I decided to check out the stream, I thought maybe this lizard was trying to tell me something about his normal home area… but all I saw was a female with some babies perhaps just wondering where the male had ran off to.

I went to the lab where I saw some Harlequin Crabs and some 'green butterflies' mating. Lastly, I saw a Pelican randomly floating in the surf, though I didn’t get a photo. Alas, a "boring" day actually turned out to be fairly interesting.

Before bed I worked on some Spanish, as well as chased a second "Ocelot Racoon" along the beach thinking it might have been a Coyote because the way it moved looked different to what I was used to with Racoons and being night it could have easily been one with its big eyes looking at me from afar.
