• Day 206: Tuesday July 24th

03:00 The summary of this morning is simply breakfast and sleep. At lunch I walked to the local Pali (a cheap but well-stocked supermarket) before hunting about elsewhere too for a good meal and buying a few gifts from the market:

I was mostly successful - as I sat watching Costa Rican version of the show "Art Attack" while checking I had gifts for everyone.

During the afternoon I was online applying for university accommodation, which wasn’t so successful but a little exciting in a strange way and also quite surreal. Words cannot describe how I feel about everything just now, even staying at this hotel brings back sweet memories such as the adventure to Corcovado with my German friend and I will miss even the feeling of staying here.

Following some TA chores the students returned from lunch, got dressed up and I myself took a long warm shower - although soon I can have many…

One of the student Adrie analysed my handwriting saying that I am; very secretive, closed-minded and friendly, apparently. I guess the friendliness was short-lived as I slapped Da who chased me round the hotel - it was only a messing about type of hit but the sound sure seemed to echo through the hotel so I felt a little bad after and gave her a hug. Em and I then had a deep conversation on the stairs.

I made this video of a sensitive species of fern, watch this - it's pretty interesting (and also my last video of my time out here... I was too sad to make any more, plus there is no need for more than 169 videos considering the quality.  If you wish you go back to view other videos in my series please check out this youtube channel or this playlist).

At 18:30 we got on the "Party Bus!" where we took some group photos together and Johnny the driver provided us with some music, disco lights and bus hydraulics…

We ate at a beautiful Chicharoneria which specialises in Chicharones (pig skins), which are one of the most incredible foods I would recommend to anyone to try if they had the opportunity. During the meal we had a view of the lights of San Jose below.

I was never given a beer with the final celebratory meal to mark the end of the CSU program, but Ca helped me get some cocktails which was good. After more photos and cocktails we returned where we had a send-off room party with a couple of cigars.
